I'm just wondering if others have recently had this happen to them. I am 71 years old and like to think I take fairly good care of myself. I still work in the education sector, because I feel helping students is my passion and like to keep busy.
With three chiropractors in my family, I think they are great in letting me know the best ways to care for myself, and I eat healthy (mostly), I get outside as much as possible, and I do love to work out, in classes offered and daily on my own.
Because I have not had to have much medical service, I have chosen a (Medicare) Advantage plan for people who want to proactively stay healthy — the Wellmark Advantage Plan. I use medical insurance very little and loved that it paid for my Silver Sneakers membership to the local YMCA — what a plus for someone who tries to take good care of themselves! I got a letter recently that my insurance no longer paid the Silver Sneakers. I thought it was a mistake, but upon calling Wellmark, I was told that it did in 2025, but it won't in 2026. I don't remember ever getting a notice about this.
I was told I could use Rewards to help pay the YMCA membership. Upon checking into that, I was inspired that there are "healthy" activities that I could get rewards for, expecting my daily workouts would qualify!
